Does It Taste Like Bone Broth?
Not at all! The chocolaty goodness in this warm winter drink makes the bone broth completely undetectable. I’ve never actually revealed to my children that this hot chocolate contains bone broth, and they remain blissfully unaware. In fact, they enthusiastically gulp down this hot chocolate whenever I make it.

Which Bone Broth Should I Use?
The secret to getting all the health benefits of bone broth in this recipe, without it tasting like hot chicken or beef juice, is to use unsalted or low-sodium bone broth. If you decide to make your own bone broth at home, omit the salt, onions, and garlic in your next batch. This will result in a less savory broth that is better suited for making this bone broth hot chocolate recipe. If you haven’t attempted making your own bone broth yet but would like to give it a try, take a look at thisstove-top recipe.
If you’re purchasing bone broth to use in this recipe, opt for beef bone broth, as it naturally tends to have lower sodium content compared to chicken bone broths. Excellent low sodium bone broth options are available from brands likeDr .KellyanneandBare Bones.
